We provide (within Bulgaria, or for export to other locations by request)
Magda Pedrini's Gavi di Gavi wines
of the
Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantitta del Comune DOCG Gavi region of Italy, located in
north west Italy, west of the city of Genova.
From February 2008, we provide 4 distinctly different wines of Gavi di Gavi at competitive prices for
quality Cortese vintages. The vintage available from 2008 is our 2006 vintage.
Gavi di Gavi is grown on the Magda Pedrini Estate, located in Ca' da Meo, a district which lies at the
very heart of the Gavi DOCG wine-growning area, where the Cortese variety produces elegant, prestigious
white wines. Magda Pedrini dedicates herself to this winery with the enthusiasm and love for the land
and wine that represent the passion of a lifetime. It was her heart that led her to acquire this historic
farm: a traditional small hamlet, surrounded by some ten hectares of estate-owned vineyars strecting
out around three amphitheatres of sun-blessed hillsides. The particularly compact, lean quality
of the largely calcereous-tufaceous substratum of the soil provides naturally low yeildsm, a
distinguishing feature that enables the generous Cortese vines to concentrate all their vigour into the
ripening of just a few, precious bunches. In particular it brings out to the full all the quality and
variety in the aromas, alternating fragrant hints of flowers and fruit with delicately mineral undertones.
While Gavi DOCG can be grown on hills in ten villages in the province of Alessandria, the wines of
Magda Pedrini are all made from grapes cultivated within the commune of Gavi itself, the village the wine
is named after at the centre of the growing area. On these classic vineyards capable of expressing Gavi's
most varietal qualities, the estate produces three different versions of the great Piedmontese white,
including two single-vineyard wines which are vinified separately.

Gavi di Gavi Magda Pedrini
is made from carefully selected estate-grown Cortese grapes which are vinified and matured in steel. Delicate, fresh and
immediate, with an elegant nose of fresh fruit and white flowers, it is an ideal match for soft cheeses, fried fish,
and vegetable timbales.
|
La Piacentina Gavi di Gavi
is grown on a vineyard of about one hectare, planted in a high hillside position in an area
which has always been renowned for the particular quality of its grapes. Packed with fine, fruity aromas
that linger on the nose, it is at its very best with shellfish, vegetables and white meat hor-d'oeuvres
and starters.

Domino di Ca' da Meo
is a soft, elegant Gavi di Gavi which is vinified and matured in small barrels made from French oak. With its
exotic, toasted overtones, warmth and body, it is an elegant match for molluscs and crustaceans, fish in sauces
or oven-roast, and white meats.
|
Il Pettirosso di Ca' da Meo
is a Monferrato red with lovely structure and concentration. It is the result of a balanced blend of Barbera
and Cabernet Sauvignon grown on a prestigious vineyard in Nizza Monferrato. Full-bodied, round and vinous, it
goes nicely with cold-cuts, red meats and mature cheeses.
